Which adhesive to use with LVT floor covering?
Planning to install LVT planks?
LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tiles) flooring is PVC flooring that comes in the form of tiles or planks.
There are 3 different ways LVT flooring can be laid.
- Floating installation with click LVT tiles or planks
- Loose lay system utilising a high strength tackifier or pressure sensitive adhesive to resist lateral movement. This is only suitable for stable tiles under stable conditions
- Glue down installation where the flooring is fully and permanently bonded.
When gluing down LVT planks, the choice of adhesive is dictated by he specifics of the application and area in which the product is being used. Different environments can put stress on LVT planks or tiles. This risks the expansion and retraction of the flooring. Only a perfectly suitable adhesive will lock and fix the LVT floor permanently.
